“Transitions & Transformations: Examples from Poland and Germany” The event series, accompanying the exhibition „Emerging Identities – EAST!“introduces current postitions of the contemporary architectural scene of the “new” EU countries in Central and Eastern Europe.

“Warsaw – City of Transition” Jakub Szczesny (CENTRALA, PL) Warsaw’s cityscape has been extremely transformed within the last years. Architect Jakub Szczesny from the young Polish office CENTRALA presents this transition from the perspective of artists and architects. This lecture is followed by project presentations:

“Aviation Museum Krakow” Justus Pysall (Pysall.Ruge Architekten, D) and Bartlomiej Kisielewski (PL) – A German-Polish collaboration.

“Work Report” AS-IF Architekten (D) – presentation of several projects of the Berlin-based office AS-IF , e.g. Museum of Contemporary Art Leipzig (awarded Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig (awarded project in context of the German architecture award Deutscher Architekturpreis 2005)
